A symbolic nod to a controversial episode 10 years old.
For the inaugural session of the XVIth legislature, which is being held this Tuesday afternoon at the National Assembly, an elected EELV was displayed with a very special outfit.
The Nupes du Rhône deputy, Marie-Charlotte Garin, borrowed the dress with white and blue floral motifs worn in July 2012 by the Ecologist Minister of Housing, Cécile Duflot.
Garment which had at the time earned him the remarks of some of the benches.

She had been entitled to names that were not courteous, or in any case not worthy of the Republic and even less of this assembly
, ”explained the 26-year-old parliamentarian, on LCP.

It will be our responsibility, and our fight, as elected feminists, to defend a hemicycle that respects everyone, and to defend the fight for women's rights
," she added, saying she was proud of her inscribe, through her gesture, in what she calls a “
transmission
”.
Argument immediately taken up by Cécile Duflot who, on Twitter, considered that “
the history of women is knitted between generations
”.
Now director general of the NGO "Oxfam France", the former minister of Jean-Marc Ayrault also recalled that the dress in question - "
symbol of sexism in politics
" according to her -, had made a stay at the Museum of Decorative Arts of Paris in 2016. “

”, she specified, ensuring that I had already “

”.
