The Knesset Committee convenes at this time (Tuesday) to discuss the law financing the parties, in preparation for the dissolution of the Knesset in the second and third readings.
As part of the agreements that followed the Knesset dissolution law in the first reading, the coalition and the opposition confirmed yesterday that the parties' funding will increase to NIS 1.66 million per Knesset member, instead of the current 1.4 million.
This is an increase of NIS 31.2 million.
The Likud and other parties have sought to raise the level of party funding in the election on the grounds that they need the money due to the Likud's economic deficit.
