The leaders of the CDU and Greens in Schleswig-Holstein officially signed the joint coalition agreement in Kiel on Tuesday.
The eight members of the steering group signed the document late in the morning, including Prime Minister Daniel Günther and Education Minister Karin Prien for the CDU, as well as Finance Minister Monika Heinold and the designated Social Affairs Minister Aminata Touré for the Greens.
Kiel - This is a good day for Schleswig-Holstein, said Günther and Heinold unanimously.
Günther said he was pleased that both parties clearly voted in favor of the coalition agreement.
It is the first black-green alliance in the northernmost state.
In the past five years, both parties had governed together with the FDP.
State party conferences of the CDU and Greens approved the outcome of the negotiations on Monday evening in Neumünster.
Daniel Günther (CDU) can now be re-elected Prime Minister on Wednesday.
With two future heads of department, the coalition is setting special accents: The 29-year-old Touré will be the first Afro-German minister in Germany and the previous mayor of Rostock, Claus Ruhe Madsen (business/non-party), the first Dane with ministerial rank.
