After a two-year Corona break, the 43rd Festival of the International Encounter with Europe Day of Music took place on Saturday.

The organizers were the district music school and the district office.

The initiators counted over 1000 visitors and contributors.

Erding - "It is a great pleasure that people meet live again and can discover common ground through cultures," said music school director Peter Hackel, who thanked everyone involved.

"The festival of international understanding is more relevant today than ever," emphasized Deputy District Administrator Franz Hofstetter (CSU) and welcomed the Turkish Consul General Mehmet Günay and the Hungarian Consul László Gurza among the guests of honor.

The many visitors went on a musical and culinary journey in a cheerful festival atmosphere.

There were games offered by the district youth council and Türkfolk.

At the opening, the KMS singing mice sang with the children of early musical education (directors: Gabi Maier, Miriam Graf and Ira Scholz).

The performance of the Ukrainian twin girls Arina and Alisa was moving.

They dedicated the folk songs to their uncle in Ukraine, who was listening via the Internet.

The women's group of the Polish Christian Association sang songs in magnificent costumes.

The Polish ensemble was founded more than twelve years ago to take part in the International Encountering Day and since then has been enthusiastic about many performances, said the head of the KMS.

Turkish folklore was performed by three different groups.

Another dance group represented Sri Lanka.

International songs could be heard with the choir of the vocational school (conductor: Peter Heger), which now also includes KMS caretaker Erich Rumler.

Wind sounds sent the KMS wind orchestra and the youth ensemble (directed by Kurt Müller) into the summer sky.

A varied program was also offered in the concert hall.

There, the children's and youth choir and its conductor Ira Scholz invited to a musical journey around the world, accompanied on the piano by Alexander Scholz and Michael Vaas and Edi Karbaumer on the cajon.

Sinfonietta, youth symphony and symphony orchestra ventured “Into the Storm” with their conductor Vroni Marschall and traveled “Around the World in 80 Days”.

Versatile folk music (directed by Maria Schirmer and Lucia Metz) and fantastically beautiful sounds from Ireland, played by the guitar ensemble (directed by Peter Hackel), also enchanted the audience.

The finale was open air with live bands from the KMS band project and pop songs, supervised by Dieter Geitz, Arno Haselsteiner and Marcella Haubrich.vev
