China renewed its call for a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue, stressing that the continuation of the Israeli settlement policy undermines the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Zhang Jun was quoted by Xinhua as saying during a Security Council session on the situation in the Middle East: "The Palestine issue is a real test of international justice and integrity," adding: "The continued expansion of Israeli settlements encroaches on Palestinian lands and natural resources and undermines The right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
Zhang called on the Israeli occupation authorities to stop disdain for Resolution 2334, stop all settlement activities, and stop undermining the foundation of the Palestinian state.
Zhang reiterated his country's condemnation of the attacks of the Israeli occupation forces and settlers against the Palestinians, including children, adding that "his country calls on the international community, especially the relevant stakeholders, to make real efforts for the peace process in the Middle East."
