The RKI reports that the corona incidence in Germany has risen to 635.8.

The number of known new infections is 142,329.

Berlin – A look at the Corona situation currently looks sobering.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the nationwide

7-day incidence

on Tuesday morning as

635.8

(previous day: 591.9, previous week: 458.5; previous month: 209.4).

142,329 new corona infections

(previous week: 123,097) and 113 deaths (previous week: 182) were reported to the RKI by the health authorities within one day.

Of course, the numbers do not provide a complete picture of the current infection process in Germany.

According to experts, the number of unreported cases is large.

Many infected people no longer do a PCR test.

But only positive PCR tests are included in the statistics.

There may also be late reports and thus daily fluctuations.

"For the assessment of the course, the consideration of the weekly comparison is more effective," says the RKI website.

A detailed assessment of the epidemiological situation was carried out in the weekly report on Thursday.

With around 50 percent, BA.5 is now the dominant variant in this country.
