One of the losers of the G7 summit is definitely the landlord of the Tonialm in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Hardly a guest comes to his Alm.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Markus Lenzenhuber uses pithy words.
But of course: it stinks a lot.
"The child has already fallen into the well," emphasizes the landlord of the Tonialm in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The inn is wonderfully idyllic next to the valley station of the Alpspitzbahn.
From the terrace you can see the mountains.
Only: Nobody sits there.
Completely empty - in perfect weather.
"We're almost out of business," he complains.
Because its exposed location has a huge disadvantage these days: it is completely cut off from the outside world.
The police have seized the large parking lots in the vicinity of the Kreuzeck and Alpspitzbahn.
One of the two aid stations for the emergency services is set up there.

G7 summit in Elmau: Landlord in Garmisch-Partenkirchen complains of a drop in sales
In theory, access to Lenzenhuber's business is free, there aren't even any access controls, but in practice things often look different.
Especially when the police forces rush to the columns to be fed.
“Then the buses are still standing everywhere on the street.
Nobody dares to go through there anymore,” he criticizes.
He had conversations with the police early on.
It was always said: nothing will be a problem.
It just looks different in reality now.
Business has collapsed completely.
“All of this is a huge obstacle for us.” Above all, Lenzenhuber and his team didn't just catch a few days around the G7 summit.
"The construction work outside started at the beginning of June." And the permanent police presence deters the guests.

G7 summit in Elmau: the police and the community cannot help Wirt
The Bavarian Zugspitzbahn has closed its catering establishments.
"They can do that because they rent out parking spaces in the village and have other income." He looks at the mountains with the stovepipe.
"I have to hope that this month I will achieve at least half of the sales from the previous year, and that despite Corona in 2021." June is actually one of the three strongest months for Lenzenhuber.
Locking up was not an option for him.
Because in his case it wouldn't just have been about five or ten days, but about the whole month.
He also tried his luck with the community and asked for support.
"But it just means that you are not responsible."
The police can say little about this matter, let alone change something about it.
The press office understands the modest situation of the restaurateur.
But you can't change anything.
"It would be clear that there will unfortunately also be some hardship cases," says a spokesman.
