The Free Voters' Association of Poing has awarded Manfred Wildner and Hans Hoesch the Citizens' Prize 2021.

Both organize the senior hikes.

Poing – Later than usual due to Corona, the Free Voters’ Community (FWG) Poing has now awarded its Citizens’ Prize 2021: to Manfred Wildner and Hans Hoesch from the Poinger Seniorenwandergruppe.

The award ceremony took place on a small scale in the Poinger Einkehr tavern, reports FWG chairman Günter Scherzl.

Poing: 450 hikes with 10,000 participants

To date, Manfred Wildner and Hans Hoesch have organized and carried out around 450 hikes for senior citizens with 10,000 participants (the 10,000th was recently honored).

Based on an idea of the Poinger Senior Advisory Board Hans Bayerl, Wildner started with the voluntary organization and implementation in 1999, since 2012 he has been supported by Hans Hoesch.

The hikes lead into the surrounding area or there are tours in the mountains on the program.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.

Normally, the Citizens' Prize ceremony takes place on the first Sunday in Advent, but this was not possible in 2021 due to the corona pandemic and the measures taken.

With the Citizens' Prize, which was awarded for the first time in 1994, the FWG Poing honors "particular voluntary commitment in and for Poing, be it in the social, sporting, cultural, school or church areas," says Scherzl.

The Citizens' Prize has now been awarded for the 27th time.

In 2020, the Citizens' Prize was canceled without replacement due to Corona.

In 2019, Ingo Averdunk, longtime trainer and dojo head of the Karate Dojo department at TSV Poing, received it.

In 2018, Angelika Wank received the FWG Citizens' Prize. She has been working as a volunteer in the café at the Poing senior citizens' center for many years.
