Hamas today (Tuesday) released documentation of Hisham a-Sayed, the Israeli prisoner of war in Gaza.
In the video, a-Sayed is seen wearing an oxygen mask and is conscious.
Al-Sayed has been held by Hamas since April 2015, after infiltrating the Gaza Strip, and no details have been received since.
Yesterday, the military wing of Hamas in Gaza issued an unusual statement according to which "there has been a medical deterioration in the condition of one of the Israeli prisoners" in its possession, but did not say who it was.
In response, officials in the defense establishment said that this was not the first time the organization had issued such a statement, and did not rule out the possibility that this was a provocation intended to raise the issue of negotiations on the prisoner and missing persons deal.
