Hamas released video with prisoner Hisham al-Sayed; "His health has deteriorated" Israel today

2022-06-28T14:20:58.250Z

After the military wing of the terrorist organization announced that there had been a deterioration in the condition of one of the two weeks • Al-Sayed was documented connected to the pipes • It is not clear when the video was taken, but apparently it was taken last week

The military wing of Hamas today (Tuesday) released documentation of the prisoner, Hisham al-Sayed, with his ID card bearded and connected to a respirator and tubes, but now it is not possible to know what the reliability of the video is and when it was filmed.

Last night, the military wing of Hamas issued an unusual statement, according to which the condition of one of the Israeli prisoners held by the organization in Gaza has deteriorated.

The announcement did not specify who it was, but said that in the coming hours the organization would publish something that would confirm its claims, later in the day a video of Hisham al-Sayed was sent.

A video released by Hamas shows on the bedside television screen a broadcast by al-Jazeera from the Qatar Economic Forum, held from June 21 to 23.

That means the video may have been shot last week.

Hamas has released documentation attributed to the capture of al-Sayed

It is possible that this is a psychological warfare by Hamas, which has been trying for some time to initiate contacts for a prisoner exchange deal in which hundreds of Palestinian prisoners will be released.

It is not inconceivable that the announcement was a lever of pressure on Israel to promote a possible deal.

The organization refused to disclose details about the fate of Sgt. Oron Shaul and Lt. Hadar Goldin who fell on the Eitan cliff in 2014. In addition, Hamas holds two Israelis, Abra Mengistu and Hisham al-Sayed.

Mengistu has been held captive by Hamas in Gaza for almost eight years.

In September 2014, he marched from his home in Ashkelon to Zikim Beach, continued south and crossed the sea border between Gaza and Israel, where he was captured by Hamas.

Three months later, al-Sayed, a Bedouin resident of the south, crossed the border.

On Sunday, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said in an extensive speech in Lebanon that Hamas' military wing had four Israeli prisoners in its hands, and that "Israel is not convinced that it will go to a prisoner exchange agreement."

"We are thinking of every direction to bring about the release of the Palestinian prisoners," he said.

About a year ago, the Al-Jazeera network released a recording of a "captured Israeli soldier" distributed by Hamas, which also used to call Mengistu and al-Sayed soldiers, even though there were civilians who crossed the fence and were abducted.

Hamas did not say which of the missing persons was in the recording, and the defense establishment estimated that the recording was fake and published to create emotional manipulation.
