The officials were also surprised when they found the marsupial in the Hommersumer Straße/Mühlenweg area in the Hassum district.
However, catching the animal again became a challenge, as 24RHEIN reports.
The escaped kangaroo hopped away.
However, a vet called was able to stop the little escapee from further escape with the help of a tranquilizer dart in the adjacent corn field.
The little kangaroo has been on a big tour of discovery since Monday morning.
Now it has been returned safe and sound to its private owner.
As early as May 2021, two escaped kangaroos had to be recaptured in Dortmund.
They also resisted the capture attempt.
