MK Mish Atid is preparing to run for mayor but Lapid has made it clear that he will not support him

Simon Davidson recently said that he "will be the mayor of Netanya," and people he spoke to said he was considering running for office in about a year and a half.

However, Lapid made it clear to him that he would not support him due to the popularity of the incumbent mayor, so he decided to wait for the Knesset lists to be closed before giving up this arena.

MK Simon Davidson of Yesh Atid recently began preparing for the possibility of running for mayor of Netanya in the upcoming local elections, but Walla! The incumbent, Miriam Feierberg.

Meanwhile, Davidson has decided to wait for the closing of the lists for the 25th Knesset and the results of the national elections, to see if he will give up the national arena.

Davidson, a resident of the city of Netanya, is a new member of Knesset Bish Atid, who was placed on the list for the twenty-fourth Knesset in 22nd place and did not enter.

After the resignation of Deputy Foreign Minister Idan Roll through Norwegian law, he was sworn in to the Knesset in July 2021.

Davidson, who is considered a well-known figure in the city, recently told one of the city's local newspapers, "I will be the future mayor of Netanya," he said.

People with whom Davidson spoke about it said he was exploring the possibility of running in an election to be held in about a year and four months.

Mish Atid was quoted as saying: "MK Simon Davidson ran in the national elections on the Yesh Atid list."

MK Davidson denied that he intended to run for mayor of Netanya: "I am being approached and pressured, but I was not prepared to run.
