The operators of the FKK Village obviously like to let it rip properly.

Residents of the brothel complain about noise pollution - especially on weekends.

Reiskirchen – The large banner at the through road advertises fun more or less around the clock: »Enjoy your day at the village!

open 11pm".

But on this summer's day around noon there is not much going on in the FKK Village in the Reiskirchen industrial park.

The red carpet has been rolled out invitingly in front of the entrance, but there is only one car in the customer parking lot;

the license plate comes from Saxony-Anhalt.

The party in the Village doesn't start until later.

At least that's what neighbors say.

They complain about regular noise pollution.

»At two or three in the morning you wake up with a start from a deep sleep and then - boom boom boom - the bass!« That happens mainly at the weekend, but not exclusively.

The local residents feel a bit left alone by the authorities.

Complaints to the police, district and municipality have had no effect.

Gießen district: Former hotel converted into a brothel

In 2015 it became known that the former Hotel Alberg was to be converted into a brothel.

The district as the approval authority could not prevent the conversion.

Brothels are permitted in commercial areas.

However, it took a few years for the FKK Village to start operating.

First a construction freeze delayed the opening, then Corona came.

All the while, residents watched developments in their neighborhoods with suspicion.

The fact that the Hells Angels are directing the new establishment didn't necessarily help to calm them down.

When FKK Village threw a three-day opening party on the first weekend of September last year, their fears were confirmed.

At the time, several of those affected reported unanimously that because of fireworks and constant music, sleep was unthinkable for two nights.

Gießen District: Pleasure mile around the brothel protected from prying eyes

In the meantime, a small entertainment mile has emerged around the former hotel.

Directly opposite is a sports bar with a shisha club and the Villagio bistro.

The nudist village calls itself »Beach Club« and advertises spa and wellness;

There is a pool on the premises.

The neighbors suspect that there are loudspeakers outside.

They can't see it.

Meter-high tarpaulins protect the entire area from prying eyes.

The fact that there is a significant number of neighbors who can take an acoustic part in the entertainment is due to the special location of the FKK Village.

It borders a mixed-use area to the east.

In addition to consulting firms, practices or offices, there are also a few residential buildings here.

Stricter noise protection applies to this area.

The noise level must not exceed 60 decibels during the day, i.e. from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

At night it can be a maximum of 45 decibels;

that's how loud it is in a residential area with no traffic, for example.

In the commercial area itself, 65 decibels are permitted during the day and 50 decibels at night.

"As part of the building permit, a noise immission forecast was drawn up that confirmed compliance with the guideline values," said Dirk Wingender, the press spokesman for the district.

Gießen district: indications of bass – residents annoyed by the noise at the brothel

According to Wingender, the building supervisory authority has not received any massive complaints about the FKK Village.

There are no written complaints, but there is a telephone reference to low-frequency noise, i.e. bass, during the day.

The police made a similar statement.

"We recently had few reports there," writes spokesman Jörg Reinemer.

A disturbance of the peace was reported to the responsible police station in Grünberg in June.

In addition, there were criminal charges for assault and theft.

Gießen district wants to check the noise level at the brothel

No incidents have been recorded in the Reiskirchen community in recent weeks.

"In the past, there were complaints from an individual," Mayor Dietmar Kromm said.

It was pointed out that the local police must be called in at times when the municipal administration is not manned.

Operation logs after noise complaints, on which the municipality can base further measures, are not yet available.

"So we don't have the necessary basis for further processing," writes Kromm.

Ultimately, it has to be proven that it is or was too loud.

Otherwise, the administrative offense procedure has very shaky foundations.«

Meanwhile, the district has promised an inspection.

"A review by the building control authority / immission control center will be carried out," writes spokesman Wingender.

The period between July 15th and 17th could be worthwhile for this.

The website of the FFK Village announces a »Big Summer Party« for this weekend.

The "non-stop party program in a class" includes strip shows, live acts, fireworks and live DJs.
