New sanctions: Russia blacklists Jill Biden and daughter Ashley

Russia bans Biden's wife and daughter from entering the country.
Other celebrities from the USA are also affected by the new sanctions.
Moscow - Russia has expanded its black list and imposed further entry bans.
The family of US President Joe Biden is also affected.
His wife Jill Biden and daughter Ashley Biden are no longer allowed to travel to Russia, the Foreign Ministry said in Moscow.
The President himself and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken are already on this list, as are hundreds of members of the US House of Representatives.
The Russian government has imposed sanctions on US President Joe Biden's wife and daughter.

In total, Russia announced entry bans against around 25 women and men from the USA.
The decision came just a day after the US announced a series of additional sanctions aimed at crippling Russia's war effort by restricting Russia's access to technology, global markets and trade, while freezing the assets of elites linked to Vladimir Putin's regimes are involved.

Other members of the US Senate and several professors from universities were newly added to the blacklist.
You are responsible for a "Russophobic course" in the United States, according to the Russian foreign office.
Among the names are also:
Mitch McConnell, Republican Senator
Ben Sasse, Republican Senator
Charles Grassley, Republican Senator
Kirsten Gillibrand, Democratic Senator
Susan Collins, Republican Senator
Francis Fukuyama, Stanford Professor
The move was taken "in response to ever-widening US sanctions against Russian politicians and public figures," the ministry said in a statement.
In the course of the Ukraine war, the USA and Canada also put two adult daughters of Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin on their sanctions list.
