Russian experts have begun testing a new nuclear missile submarine.
And the website (Russia Today) quoted an informed source in the field of the Russian military industry as saying that "the new Russian nuclear submarine of the (Yasin M) class, Krasnoyarsk, left the day before yesterday from the Sivmash plant and headed towards the White Sea to undergo kinetic tests."
He added, "During the tests, the readiness of the equipment in the submarine will be inspected and its ability to move and maneuver in the water will be checked and its conformity with the specifications announced in its design project."
The upgraded Yasen M submarines are armed with Kalibr and Onyx long-range winged missiles and Tsirkon anti-ship missile systems, and are equipped with 533 mm anti-submarine and anti-ship torpedoes.
