According to a judgment by the administrative court in Schwerin, a former NPD functionary is not entitled to a gun license even five years after leaving the party.
The man continued to be involved in right-wing extremist organizations and did not distance himself from right-wing extremism, the court said.
Therefore he is considered unreliable in the sense of the gun law.
The lower weapons authority of the responsible district therefore does not have to issue a gun license and not give him back his hunting license.
The district had confiscated a rifle, ammunition and the hunting license after being informed by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomeranian Office for the Protection of the Constitution about the political activities of the man, who was also a member of the district council.
The man complained about that.
At the beginning of 2015 he left the NPD.
The verdict is not yet legally binding.
