A sign from Bamberg is causing a lot of laughs on Instagram.

The community is discussing what the offer on it could be about.

Bamberg – It ranks among the most popular fast food classics in Germany: the doner kebab.

There are now countless variations of the Germans’ favorite dish.

Various types of meat, sauces and rolls are used.

Sweet variants made of chocolate, for example, are now also widely available.

But an offer from Bamberg left Instagram users suspicious.

Instagram post from Bamberg: Döner offer confuses users

On the popular Instagram page "notesofgermany" you will find posts about funny notes and signs from all over Germany at regular intervals.

The most recent contribution from Friday, June 24, came from the Upper Franconian metropolis of Bamberg.

Here, an attentive citizen of the city named Katharina took a snapshot that raises several questions.

The photographed sign reads: "Special student doner kebab €4.50".

Next to it is the caption: "Rich kids only!"

The first thing anyone who takes a closer look at the picture will probably ask is why the offer is more expensive than the original price.

Because above the 4.50 euros written in red for the meat-filled bread bag, it says 4.00 euros crossed out.

Does that now mean that the offer is 50 cents more expensive than the original price?

Instagram users take up the question right away.

"Students are getting more and more expensive since Trump saved so many children from tunnels..." Another still has 2002 in his head and converts the offer into DM.

"That's 9 in real money!!!!"

Instagram post from Bamberg: Are students processed into kebabs here?

Most of the comments, however, address the second question that might pop into your head.

Is there a doner kebab with student meat here?

A user writes sarcastically: "Were only children from organic farming used?" Another jokes: "Students are out, and they don't come back in either." Another commentator interprets the sign differently.

The offer of a student for four euros no longer exists.

On the other hand, you can still get a doner kebab for 4.50 euros.

"As there are no more students, only doner kebabs..." You will probably only find out exactly what the offer is all about and how to interpret it correctly if you ask the salesperson behind the counter in Bamberg.
