The Supreme Presidential Committee to Follow up on Church Affairs in Palestine affirmed that the Israeli occupation's seizure of lands adjacent to Al-Aqsa Mosque is part of its plans to impose its control over the occupied city of Jerusalem and Judaize it.
The committee indicated in a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency, that the occupation seizes vital and large areas in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, as happened recently in the Bab Al-Khalil area, Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Square, and the Petra and Imperial hotels, which are owned by the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, and it is continuing its attempts to displace the people of my town. Silwan and Jabal Mukaber and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood forcibly.
The committee stressed that the Palestinians, Muslims and Christians, are steadfast in their capital, Jerusalem, defending their city, heritage and history, and the crimes of the occupation will not deter them from defending it, calling on the international community to pressure the occupation authorities to stop their crimes against the Palestinian people.
