A few days before the old Corona Test Ordinance expires, the contact points in the Weilheim-Schongau district still don't know what the new set of rules will look like.

The displeasure in many test stations was correspondingly great yesterday.

There have been reports behind closed doors that the phones are running hot because many citizens want to know how things will continue from July 1st.

The only thing that is certain is that ordinary people nationwide should be asked to pay, the personal contribution will be three euros.

"Vulnerable groups", including children up to five years of age, women at the beginning of pregnancy and visitors to clinics and nursing homes, are excluded.

The medical director of the district's corona test station does not yet know whether and how these groups have to prove their eligibility for a free test.

Wilhelm Fischer did not expect details until Thursday.

"We're already used to it, that important decisions are always very close," says the medical director in a friendly manner.

After all: At least until Saturday, July 2nd, i.e. one day beyond the deadline, the rapid test in the district will remain free of charge.

According to Fischer, the Free State has extended its Infection Protection Measures Ordinance, which originally only applied until June 25th, by one week.

The cabinet will only decide this week how to proceed after that.

It is also possible that the Free State will assume the additional costs and the rapid tests will remain free of charge.

Either way: Despite the uncertainty, several test stations have already announced that they will continue to operate;

the Corona test center at Trifthof in Weilheim, for example, until at least mid-October, assures the medical director.

It is now also open on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., so that visits to nursing homes and hospitals are possible on that day, emphasizes Fischer.
