The Qaderoon project was launched at the beginning of 2019 from the Faculty of Science at Tartous University with the aim of moving university education from the stage of theoretical indoctrination to practical technical application, which contributes to an effective link on the ground between the university and the community.

Dr. Saud Keda, the project manager, said in his speech to the SANA Youth Bulletin that a team of 13 male and female students was formed in the first school year from the departments of chemistry, physics and biology who do not have any experience in the field of scientific manufacturing, and it was decided to complete a developed distilled water device due to its importance in all scientific laboratories and applied and industrial sectors and funded by Tartous University.

He continued, “Manufacturing began at that time according to several stages, starting from the reference research, through the blueprints, to implementing the design and ending with conducting tests on it, as the students were followed up according to research foundations, and the result was that within 6 months, a single-stage distilled water device was manufactured with the specifications of a two-stage device by developing the structure of a basin. Heating and providing them with supporting bumpers. The device was also equipped with a UV treatment system and microbial filters to obtain water suitable for biological tests without DNA.

In addition, the operating system has been developed so that the device can work according to the chemical or biological system after providing it with an automatic sediment treatment system without the need to open the device, according to that, who explained that the design process was carried out in a way that gives the device a silent mode during work and a production capacity of 15 liters / hour, indicating He indicated that the work of the device was tested in the Atomic Energy Authority in Damascus from a chemical and bacteriological point of view, and the results of the test showed the effectiveness of its work by 99.97 percent.

He pointed out that Tartous University made a decision in 2020 to approve the manufactured device and it is now under investment in the laboratories of the Faculty of Science, as it covers so far the laboratories' needs of distilled water of both chemical and biological types. By means of intelligent algorithms that are added to his work program.

This project participated in both the Damascus International Exhibition 2019 and the Syoss International Exhibition 2019, where it received a great turnout for its idea, which depends on the young generation of researchers in these industries, especially as it adopts quality control standards.
