Yuen Long Police District Chief Inspector (Criminal) Tai Yulin said that at 9 pm last Saturday, the police received a 999 report that a man was attacked and fell to the ground outside the Jun Wang Xuan shopping mall in Tin Shui Wai. The man was unconscious on the ground, facing the sky, bleeding profusely from the back of his head.

The man was immediately taken to the hospital by ambulance. He was in critical condition during his stay in the hospital. He died of serious injuries at 3:34 pm today and was confirmed dead by doctors at Tuen Mun Hospital.

The case was classified as a manslaughter case and was handed over to the Yuen Long Police District Crime Squad to take over the investigation.

After reviewing a large number of CCTVs and interviewing multiple witnesses, the police found that the victim was a retiree surnamed Feng (63 years old) who lived in Tianshui.

At the time of the incident, the victim and six friends ate at a restaurant at Junhongxuan site, and they continued to chat outside the mall after the meal.

During this period, the victim and a boyfriend quarreled over trivial matters, during which the boyfriend threw his left fist to his face and pushed him to the ground.

The male suspect fled with other friends after seeing it, and other citizens called the police.

After in-depth investigation and intelligence analysis, the police quickly identified the identities of the deceased's friends and the male suspect, as well as the location where the male suspect was hiding.

Detectives raided a tin house on Yiyuan Road, Tuen Mun at around 9 o'clock last night. After breaking into the house, they arrested a male suspect surnamed Peng (61), who reported that he was a cleaner and is being detained for investigation.

Police also seized the clothes he was wearing at his hiding place.

The police pointed out that the deceased and the arrested person were friends, and there was no grievance between the two parties. They drank alcoholic beverages at dinner. It is believed that the dispute and attack were caused by trivial matters. No weapons were used during the process, and the suspect did not premeditate the crime.

The police appealed that violence should not be used to solve problems under any circumstances. In addition to being illegal, violence may also lead to unpleasant incidents.
