According to information from Kiev, fighting for the strategically important city of Lyssychansk continues in eastern Ukraine.
Russia is storming the settlement of Vovchoyarivka southwest of the city, the Ukrainian General Staff said in its situation report on Tuesday morning.
Russian units are already on the outskirts of the city in the south.
Fighting will also take place at an oil refinery.
Lysychank is the last major city in the region under Ukrainian control.
Several thousand Ukrainian soldiers are said to be stationed there.
According to Ukrainian sources, in addition to using mortars and artillery, Russian troops have also carried out airstrikes in the direction of the city.

Some experts think it is conceivable that Russian President Vladimir Putin will mobilize all available soldiers in his country to make up for the many soldiers who died in the Ukraine war.
It is estimated that around 12,000 Russian soldiers have died in the fighting.
However, the British secret service does not believe in a general mobilization, but assumes another tactic by Putin.
As the British Ministry of Defense announced on Monday (June 27), citing intelligence information, the Russian army will probably increasingly rely on reservists in the future.
Presumably, Russian battalions in the Ukraine war would be replenished with veterans who have served in the past five years.
There are also reports that Russia is luring new soldiers with money in order to recruit them to fight in the Ukraine war.
Ukraine war: General mobilization would be a delicate step for Putin

Tactically, the Russian focus is still on eastern Ukraine.
The Russian soldiers are currently trying to form a pocket around the city of Lysychansk.
