Geneva, SANA- The World Health Organization announced the registration of 3,413 confirmed cases of monkeypox virus in 50 different countries of the world

The World Health Organization has announced 3,413 confirmed cases of monkeypox in 50 different countries since the beginning of this year.

And the website of Russia Today channel quoted the organization as saying in a statement today that “1310 new infections with monkeypox virus have been recorded around the world since the previous statement was issued in this regard on the seventeenth of this month,” noting that one death has been recorded so far, in Nigeria.

The ministry added: 86% of injuries were recorded in Europe, 11% in America, 2% in Africa, and less than 1% in both the eastern Mediterranean and the Pacific region, indicating that Britain ranked first among the countries where injuries were recorded, as 793 cases were monitored. Germany ranked second with 521 cases, and Spain third with 520 cases.

Monkeypox is contagious and spreads through close contact, so it can be contained relatively easily through measures such as self-isolation and personal hygiene.
