Lattakia City Council began installing solar lighting devices on Al-Maghrib Al-Arabi Street, starting from Al-Olabi Roundabout to the fourth Lattakia Port Company's door on the western Corniche.
The head of the city council, Eng. Hussein Zingerli, said in a statement to SANA reporter that 35 lighting devices are currently being installed in Al-Mughrabi Street on the Western Corniche, according to the contract with the Syrian branch of networks, worth 150 million Syrian pounds.
Zingerli indicated that the council has drawn up an action plan according to which it identified a number of main axes for installing solar lighting, some of which will be implemented in cooperation with international organizations.
According to Zingerli, lighting devices will be installed at the entrance to the city of Lattakia towards the agricultural roundabout and the Al-Thawra highway, and from the Haroun roundabout towards Sheikh Daher Square, in addition to a number of other city neighborhoods.
