A 26-year-old biker lost his life on Tuesday morning, near Cernay-la-Ville (Yvelines).
Around 8 a.m., while he was traveling on the D 906 between Rambouillet and Cernay, he was hit by a motorist who had just entered the D 91, towards Dampierre-en-Yvelines.
According to the first elements collected by the gendarmes of the territorial brigade of Chevreuse, the driver would not have seen the motorcyclist who arrived on his right.
Screenings related to possible consumption of alcohol or narcotics were negative.
The motorcyclist died on the spot.
A deadly start to the year
These last few months have been particularly deadly for motorcyclists on the roads of Yvelines.
Last April, the passenger of a motorcycle had succumbed after collision with a motorist, in Guyancourt.
In March, two men aged 27 and 18 died in Montigny-le-Bretonneux (Yvelines).
The pilot had lost control of his machine.
Not far away, in Voisins-le-Bretonneux, another biker had died a month earlier after being hit by a car.

Bikers thus represent almost half of road deaths in the department since the beginning of the year.
Noting an increase in accidents compared to 2021, the police have multiplied checks and punch operations, especially at motorway exits.
