Has Donald Trump grabbed the steering wheel of his presidential limousine or not?

As several US media reports, Secret Service agents deny the events as described by Cassidy Hutchinson before the Capitol Storming Committee.

But one shouldn't put too much stock in the testimony of Secret Service agents, Washington Post

correspondent Carol Leonnig said

in an interview with

MSNBC

.

These are officials who are very close to Donald Trump and whom she would describe as "yes men," Leonnig said.

+++ 15.55:

Any concerns he has regarding [...] are outweighed by the need to testify,” Cheney said.

The statements made by Cassidy Hutchinson, a former intern in the White House, in the process of storming the Capitol cause different reactions.

While former US President Donald Trump lashed out at Hutchinson on his social media platform Truth Social, a commentator on Fox News was stunned.

Bair called the statements "convincing" and "stunning".

Referring to Trump, Bair said: "Cassidy Hutchinson is under oath on Capitol Hill.

The President hangs with Truth Social and makes his statements.” Because of Hutchinson's proximity to power, her statements are “very, very powerful”.

Donald Trump heavily burdened: Cassiy Hutchinson reports argument in limousine

First report from Wednesday, June 29, 8:00 a.m.:

Washington DC – According to new statements before the investigative committee on the storming of the Capitol in Washington, former US President Donald Trump is said to have tried to smack the driver of his presidential limousine on the steering wheel, according to a witness to snatch and drive to his followers to the Capitol.

After a speech to his supporters, Trump got into his car, Cassidy Hutchinson told the parliamentary inquiry committee in Washington on Tuesday (June 28).

The President was told he could not now join his supporters who had gathered to storm the Capitol.

Trump then said to his driver: "I'm the damn president - take me to the Capitol right now." Hutchinson, who based her testimony on reports from another government official, was part of the inner circle in the White House and was an assistant to Trump's chief of staff Mark Meadows.

According to her description, the White House legal representative, Pat Cipollone, expressed considerable legal concerns in this situation should Trump join his supporters' march on the Capitol.

"We will be accused of every crime imaginable if that happens," Hutchinson quoted the adviser as saying.

Donald Trump is said to have been aware of the violent acts of the Capitol storm in Washington beforehand

She also reported that Trump and his followers were aware before January 6, 2021 that violence could occur - contradicting the Trump camp's account that his supporters' storming of the Capitol was spontaneous and that the outgoing government did it had nothing to do with it.

Rather, Trump said four days before the events, according to Hutchinson, "Things can get really, really bad on January 6th."

After his defeat in the presidential election in November 2020, Trump pulled out all the stops to stay in power.

Among other things, he and his environment spread allegations of electoral fraud that had not been proven.

The sad low point of the campaign was the storm of hundreds of radical Trump supporters on the Capitol when Joe Biden's election victory was to be certified there.

The riots that left five dead caused horror around the world.

The Capitol Storming Committee of Inquiry is currently holding a series of public hearings to uncover what happened at the time.
