The music band Gaißach and the local clubs are holding a new festival for the first time under the name "Sunnawind".

On July 2nd and 3rd things will be social and musical.

Gaißach

– When the first meetings for joint rehearsals at the Gaißach music band were possible again after the lockdown, there was a lot of discussion and talking afterwards.

And the conclusion was always the same: "What we missed the most was socializing." The logical conclusion: "We have to do something about it".

The simple solution: "A festival for us - a festival for everyone." The foundation stone was laid.

"As a next step, the local associations of Gaißach were informed and everyone was very enthusiastic," says Music Director Peter Margreiter.

This festival will take place for the first time this weekend.

It is entitled "Sunnawind Festival".

The organizers were also motivated by the memories of the "1200 years of Gaißach" anniversary celebrations.

Margreiter says: "It was just bearish.

And it should be that hearty again.” Of course, a large marquee will not be erected.

Everything will take place in the open air on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July.

The celebrations will take place on the fairground at the train station in Gaißach-Wetzl.

If the weather doesn't cooperate, there will be a postponement date.

Then a week later, on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July, there will be celebrations.

There are enough food stands and attractions.

The farmers' association spoils visitors with coffee and lard pastries as well as home-made liqueurs.

The rifle company hosts in a Bavarian beer garden, there are crêpes from the fire brigade, and the finger hookers from the Isargau provide grilled specialties.

The offer also includes snacks at the Weinstadl, various types of pizza, South Tyrolean snacks, a cocktail bar, a schnapps stand, the "Bunker Bar" from the veterans' association and much more.

Musikkapelle Gaißach organizes the first festival night

The marksmanship can be put to the test in the "cinema shooting" of the marksmen, there is a wooden bowling alley, a soccer field and of course a bouncy castle.

The musical program is varied: the Isarwinkl youth band will play at the opening on Saturday from 6 p.m.

The first festival night will then be organized by the hosts of the Gaißach music band.

Visitors from Tyrol come on Sunday with the Steinberg am Rofan music band, the Loisachtal represents the Bichl brass band, followed by the “Kraftwerk Crew”, the “Isarkrainern” and finally the “Musikatzen” play at the end.

Admission is 8 euros on Saturday and Sunday for visitors aged 16 and over.

Children and young people under the age of 15 are free.

On Sunday there is a family ticket for a maximum of 25 euros.

The Gaißach music band and all Gaißach local clubs are looking forward to as many visitors as possible.
