Twenty-two people were killed and others injured as a result of thunderstorms and torrential rains that hit different parts of the state of Bihar in eastern India.
Indian media reported that "thunderstorms and heavy rains hit different parts of the state, killing 22 people, most of them farmers, and injuring eight others," while the Meteorological Department expected heavy rain and lightning strikes in different parts of the state during the next 24 hours.
It is noteworthy that 17 people were killed last week in lightning strikes across the state.
