New details from the Palestinian government meeting: During the weekly meeting held earlier this week in Ramallah, Palestinian Authority Chairman Abu Mazen told the ministers that Israel had requested not to advance moves in the International Court of Justice in The Hague regarding al-Jazeera journalist killing incident, Sheerin Abu Aqla This is what a Palestinian source told Israel Today.

It should be noted that the Palestinian General Prosecution claims that they completed the internal investigation into the death of Abu Akla, and the findings were recently transferred to the General Prosecutor's Office in the court. Will not at this time promote a dramatic step in the proceedings before the court and that it is likely that it will postpone examination or implementation of other measures against Israel until after President Biden's visit to the region. This is so as not to enter into a confrontation with the administration.

According to the source, Abu Mazen appeared to be quite reassured at the cabinet meeting held on Sunday, during which he told those present that the Palestinian side had received promises from the US staff in recent weeks that the administration would put pressure on Israel to refrain from promoting construction in E1 in the Ma'ale Adumim area.

Regarding the Palestinian demand to reopen the American consulate in Jerusalem, the PA chairman noted that they had informed the Americans that there was no reason to wait for Israelis, and that the Palestinian side did not need permits from Israel to open the consulate.

The Palestinian cabinet meeting was held in the background of the separate meetings held by the PA chairman and the president of the State of Israel with the King of Jordan in Amman in recent days.

This week, President Yitzhak Herzog is holding a meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah II at his royal palace in Jordan ahead of US President Joe Biden's visit to the region and as part of the region's policy developments.

The meeting was defined as warm, and took place at the invitation of the King of Jordan, during which the President and the King discussed strategic in-depth issues, both at the bilateral and regional level.

The visit also addressed the stability of relations between the countries and the need for dialogue with all parties in the region.
