The Farchant tunnel is completely closed - until the afternoon.

Traffic is standing still everywhere.

All this one day after the G7 summit in Elmau.

Is there a connection?

Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Apparently, the Farchant Tunnel, which connects the important B2 traffic artery between Oberau and Partenkirchen, had to be completely closed during the night.

The cause is probably technical in nature, but there is no further information yet.

Except that the lockdown lasts a long time, at least until 2 p.m.

Around 18,000 police officers are said to have been on duty around the G7 summit, which ended on Tuesday.

Many return to their home inspection sites with heavy equipment such as water cannons and personnel carriers.
