Bennett has announced that he will not run in the next election, and Shaked is expected to replace him as right-wing chairman
Bennett decided to retire after consultations with some of his party members and associates.
In a situation where Shaked will lead the party, some members of the right, led by Matan Kahana, who is considered very close to Bennett, may leave the list and not run in it in the upcoming elections.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will not run in the next election, the members of the right-wing faction announced tonight (Wednesday).
He will remain in the post of Deputy Prime Minister until the next government is formed.
In recent days, Bennett has been debating whether to run in the upcoming elections, and has held consultations with some of his party members and associates about it.
Finally, he decided that he would not run.
It is estimated that Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked will lead her right, in line with Bennett's promise in a meeting he held with her earlier this week.
In a situation where Shaked will lead the party, some members of the right, led by Deputy Minister Matan Kahana, who is considered very close to Bennett, may leave the list and not run in it in the upcoming elections.

Within the party, there were disagreements around the party line in the upcoming elections.
While Shaked wants to maintain ambiguity in support of Netanyahu, Kahana and other Knesset members sought to lead an anti-Netanyahu line.
Earlier this week, Bennett and Shaked met, so she expressed to him her desire to lead the right-wing party if Bennett retires from political life.
She added that later on she plans to join other parties - without disqualifying a possible alliance with Benjamin Netanyahu.
