Bulky waste in Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen: No more free delivery

Until now, citizens of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen have been able to take their bulky waste to the landfill site twice a year, subject to registration.

That will change on July 1st.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

– There will be an important change in the district on July 1st: From then on it will no longer be possible to deliver bulky waste twice a year free of charge to Quartzbichl or to the Am Vorberg disposal center after you have submitted a corresponding application.

As reported, the board of directors of the waste management company voted in favor of this project in January.

The reason is that the fees for disposal should no longer be distributed across all fee payers.

Slight increase in deliveries of bulky waste in the first half of the year

In the first half of the year there was a slight increase in applications, says Reiner Späth, manager of WGV Quartzbichl, on request.

"But it wasn't a wave, there were maybe five to ten percent more applications." One does not have to conclude from this that many citizens still wanted to get rid of their bulky waste free of charge.

"It can be a natural fluctuation."

Basically, the change means less bureaucracy for citizens and WGV.

Until now, you had to submit an application, which then had to be checked to see whether the applicant was actually entitled to make the delivery.

"That's gone now.

People can come spontaneously during opening hours without registering.”

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen: bulky waste is weighed

The vehicles are weighed upon arrival and then again after they have been emptied.

The scales at the delivery points are already in place.

But the bulky waste that is picked up will also be weighed with immediate effect.

Two vehicles were retrofitted for this, reports Späth.

For the administration, there is no workload due to the applications for self-delivery, but the applications for collection naturally remain.

“For the staff at the acceptance points, there are no longer any checks on the forms.

In return, the weighing processes will probably increase.” Späth does not believe that this will result in more suppliers overall.

Of course, the weighing can lead to waiting times.

"We therefore advise not to deliver at peak times and rather to use one day during the week." A few changes are still "future dreams": For example, that the traffic routing will be changed and there will be a second platform for the scales, so that arriving and departing deliverers do not get in the way.

Delivering up to 100 kilos of bulky waste costs a flat rate of 10 euros

First of all, you have to see how everything is playing out.

"It's a relief for the general fees," says Späth, who doesn't want to promise that there will be a reduction in fees.

But at least the increase could be more moderate.

Of course, it could happen that in the future more bulky waste will end up in the residual waste or in nature.

"But that's already happening now.

The causes lie somewhere else.”

The price for self-delivery will not increase.

Everyone who delivers spontaneously and without a form already pays certain flat rates.

The so-called small quantity flat rate includes everything up to a weight of 100 kilograms and is 10 euros.

There is no weighing here because the scales have a minimum load from which they can only measure.

What falls under the small quantity is often left to the personal assessment of the employee on site.

"When in doubt, it's weighed up." The prices for bulky waste collection will increase due to the necessary conversion of the vehicles.
