The municipality of Feldkirchen wants to determine its own future.

A local development plan should ensure this.

Feldkirchen – The municipality of Feldkirchen wants to take the reins of action and decide for itself what it wants to look like in the future.

A local development plan should guarantee this.

"In recent years, it has always been the case that an investor came up with an idea, and we in the municipal council had to decide very quickly whether we wanted it or not," Herbert Vanvolsem (CSU) campaigned in the municipal council for his group's application.

It would make much more sense if the municipality once generally determined what they plan to do in the open spaces.

The CSU is a burned child: it was unsuccessful on several occasions when changing the land use plan for the free space between the S-Bahn line and Münchner Straße, an area that is quite attractive for investors.

"What do we actually stand for?"

So now a local development plan.

This is not binding, can be implemented or not and changed at any time, "but we finally have something concrete at hand," said Vanvolsem.

A leitmotif is missing: “What do we actually stand for?

Which trades do we want and which not?” The creation of the plan takes a maximum of one year and can be processed, it provides a concrete picture of what Feldkirchen could look like in 2030 or 2040.

Daniel Golibrzuch (UWV) thinks the idea is good in principle, "but it has to be done quickly and promptly and it has to be carried out.

There was already a plan like that, which is bobbing along.” Brigitte Pfaffinger (SPD) also showed full approval.

“We finally have to act, not just react.

Feldkirchen doesn't stand for anything at the moment, it's just a place of transit.

We have to change that.” Silvia Pahl-Leclerque (Greens) agreed, “and then the plans must actually be implemented.” Mayor Andreas Janson (UWV) also finds the proposal positive.

“A new local development plan must not stop the current planning and ongoing projects.

Then I'm all for it.” Vanvolsem reassured them that they didn't want to stop the current plans, but rather to develop new ideas.

The municipal council unanimously approved the local development plan.

The administration should commission a planning office to accompany the process and guarantee good citizen participation.
