The discussion sessions held by the Population Subcommittee in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, in cooperation with the Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs, concluded the need to intensify studies and research on the current situation of young people, link the outputs of intermediate and higher education to the inputs of the labor market, and give young people the opportunity for agricultural investment by giving them plots of state property for projects. They are doing and amending laws and regulations that push young people to migrate.
During the discussion sessions, the participants called for the establishment of business incubators and the introduction and encouragement of investment in information and knowledge economy.
Member of the Executive Office of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, Dr. Siham Al-Khater, stated that the discussion sessions that were held at the Qudrat Center for Youth Empowerment under the title “National Strategy for Youth Empowerment” lasted for two days, in which youth volunteers from civil associations in the governorate participated, and included a detailed presentation of the national strategy for youth empowerment and an explanation of terms and words Keywords on strategy, empowerment, youth and patriotism.
Al-Khater explained that the discussion dealt with aspects of empowerment from the scientific, professional, cultural, economic and social aspects, in addition to a wide range of challenges, opportunities and proposals.
A number of participants indicated that the sessions enabled them to present their views on the issues raised and to discuss them seriously and effectively, calling for intensifying efforts to give young people their role in rebuilding Syria and building what was destroyed by terrorism.
