The Academy of the Arabic Language in Damascus held a reception this morning for the new member, Dr. Youssef Barakat, where he was imitated the collective insignia in the lecture hall of the complex.
The head of the Academy of the Arabic Language in Damascus, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sayed, said in his speech: We are proud of what Syria presented to our mother tongue. As soon as it was liberated from the Ottoman tyranny that fought the Arabic language and worked to marginalize and exclude it and impose the Turkish language in its place, it restored the Arabic language to its position and studied medicine and rights in it in the contract. The second of the last century, and established the Arab Scientific Academy, which is the father of all linguistic academies in the Arab world in 1919.
Al-Sayed indicated that the complex is pleased to have new members join it, such as Dr. Barakat, who is fascinated with science and is passionate about it and who is prolific in his production in the field of health sciences in authorship, translation and teaching, as he has enriched the Arab library in the field of health sciences with qualitative translations, in a sound language, and in a scientific and clear style.
Dr. Makki Al-Hasani, a member of the Society, presented a biography of the new member, who held many positions, in addition to his participation in many workshops related to medical education and conferences in a number of Syrian, Arab and European universities that he obtained, explaining that he has written many books in medical and health sciences and translated books. For the Center for Arabization of Health Sciences in Kuwait and for the Center for Arabization, Translation, Authoring and Publishing of the Arab Organization for Education, Science and Culture “ALECSO” and for publishing original articles and research in Arabic and English in several Syrian and Arab magazines, in addition to his supervision of a number of master’s and doctoral theses.
The new member, Barakat, spoke about his late predecessor, Dr. Muhammad Zuhair Al-Baba, indicating that he spent most of his life drawing on knowledge and serving it until he became a source of it. In his family and friend in his community, where his life was full of giving at various levels, teaching, management, research, translation, writing and investigation.
