The Ecuadorian Parliament rejected on Tuesday June 28 a motion for the dismissal of conservative President Guillermo Lasso, who has been facing indigenous protests over the cost of living for two weeks.

The motion gathered only 80 votes from deputies out of the 92 necessary for its adoption, according to the results announced by the Secretary of Parliament, Alvaro Salazar, during a virtual session broadcast on social networks.
