The SV Miesbach and the SPD local branch of the district town mourn the loss of Siggi Hacker.

The treasurer of the Social Democrats and a volunteer who is active in many functions at FC Miesbach died unexpectedly at the age of 54.

As SV Miesbach, the successor club to FC, and the SPD announced in a joint statement, Hacker, as a long-standing party and club member, was always a reliable advisor and loyal friend.

One person who got to know hackers well is Thomas Schneider.

"During my term of office he was treasurer in the local association," reports the former SPD local chairman.

His sudden death is a tragic thing.

"No one expected that."

"He did a lot for Miesbach"

Siggi Hacker was an "extremely good friend," says Schneider.

Always helpful, always engaged.

"He did a lot for Miesbach." Most recently, both of them also took over a maypole guard at Habererplatz.

"He was still in a good mood then." His unexpected death is all the more so.

Hacker began his professional career in 1993 with his training at the Sparkasse Academy in Landshut.

This was followed by the task of branch manager of the Sparkasse Bayreuth and in 1997 the move to Miesbach.

Here he was responsible for the private customer business of the Sparkasse Miesbach-Tegernsee.

Later he became branch manager of the VR Bank München-Land in Taufkirchen and Unterhaching as well as at the Postbank in Munich-Bogenhausen.

In 2009, Hacker switched to the insurance business.

Many honorary posts

He brought one of his honorary posts with him from his Franconian homeland - the social democracy - and was elected treasurer of the SPD local association Miesbach in 2015.

Social justice was very important to Siggi Hacker.

He organized trips, such as that of the Bayreuth local SPD association to Miesbach, planned events and information stands for the election campaign dates and always had an open ear for others.

Politics was his great passion.

He ran twice for the Miesbach city council.

His other passion was football.

In his youth he was an enthusiastic soccer player himself and was involved with the FC in Miesbach.

In 1999 he became a member, and in 2000 he took on important functions.

Funeral service on July 6th

Over the years he has served as department head, vice chairman, treasurer and press secretary and was always there when needed.

He helped out at events such as the Miesbach Forest Festival, the Culinary Shopping Evening and all other festivities in which FC Miesbach was involved.

He played in the AH of FC Miesbach and wrote many football reports about FC for our newspaper.

But he was present at every away game and reliably represented his club at conferences of the Bavarian Football Association.

Siggi Hacker will later find his final resting place in his family's grave in Heinersreuth near Bayreuth.

Anyone who would like to say goodbye to him and commemorate him has the opportunity to do so on Wednesday, July 6, from 2 p.m. in the funeral parlor of the Miesbach Cemetery at the funeral service.
