However, the new quarter in Kirchseeon, covering an area of ​​16.5 hectares, is not intended to be a “satellite”, but connected to the site.

The investors presented the plans on Wednesday at a press conference together with Stefan Zeiselmaier and Valentin Hadelich from the investor (ECE Group Hamburg) as well as Mayor Jan Paeplow and market builder Robert König.

Historic tower as a trademark

According to the current status of the investors' considerations, there should be a kind of promenade in the center, with the historic and still existing tower of the former railway sleeper factory site, which has not been used for years, as a striking point.

All around are taller buildings, urban.

Further away, the development should be lower, down to terraced houses on the edge of the forest.

New connection to the train station for cyclists and pedestrians

There will also be a direct, new connection to the train station on the other side of the tracks to the north, but not for cars, only for pedestrians and cyclists.

In addition, a landscaped lake with a café, a new school, kindergartens, shops, restaurants, different apartments, a mobility concept, business, life.

"It shouldn't be a dormitory town," according to the planners.

It is not intended to add a “monofunctional, boring housing project”.

After the decision in principle by the Kirchseeon municipal council to develop the former railway clamp factory site on Monday (we reported), the investors from ECE Hamburg now presented their ideas.

It also became clear that the plans are at a very early stage and many questions are still unanswered.

It is clear to the planners that the site is sensitive due to the legacy of the railway.

After the use of the railway sleeper factory, the area is partially heavily polluted.

When asked, it was said that ECE had experience with a project in Hamburg-Altona, for example.

It was also about an area with railway premises and loads.

There are also considerations about noise protection for the new quarter on the railway.

This should be sound-absorbing in order to protect the residents.

Across the railway line, the new quarter is to be built (below), with a new connection to the train station on the other side of the tracks.

Hamburg companies present in the region

The company is already well represented in the region (Zeiselmaier's official company address: Olympia shopping center in Munich).

The company's sub-organization responsible for the project wants to relocate its headquarters to Kirchseeon.

Rooms are currently being sought.

"We haven't found anything yet," says Zeiselmaier.

Probably also an indication that corresponding offers were missing, it said at the press conference.

Incidentally, master market builder Robert König gave the investor a good reference: "I have had several years of experience with investors." This is a professional company with economic potential.

Information event for the public

Incidentally, this emphasized the importance of involving the population at an early stage.

Mayor Jan Paeplow announced a timely information event in the ATSV hall.
