Chargé d'Affairs at the Venezuelan Embassy in Damascus, Joaquín Gomez, stressed the need to reach a global common position towards the Palestinian cause to give it the momentum it deserves.
Gomez said in a lecture entitled (Venezuela and the Palestinian Cause), organized by the Al-Quds International Foundation at the Abu Rummaneh Cultural Center today, “All of us who support the Palestinian cause around the world must undertake joint action and a joint strategy as one team to respond to Zionism and defend the Palestinian cause.”
Gomez reiterated his country's supportive stance for all global liberation movements, especially the Palestinian cause, stressing the importance of building many bridges of communication in multiple languages to showcase the fact that Zionism is the biggest threat facing the Palestinian people and the entire region.
In turn, the Director-General of Al-Quds International Foundation, Syria, Dr. Khalaf Al-Muftah, welcomed the positions of the friendly state of Venezuela, which supports the global liberation movements, and its standing against the US imperialist hegemony, pointing out that Venezuela has always determined a firm position towards the Palestinian cause and takes a confrontational line and defends the rights of the Palestinian people.
Al-Muftah stressed that the resistance is the only way to liberate the occupied Palestinian lands and thwart colonial plans towards the region.
The lecture was attended by a number of representatives of Palestinian factions, Syrian and Palestinian national parties, representatives of Arab and foreign embassies in Syria, and social and cultural events.
