It's not quite as old as the Weilheim-Schongau district: the Pfaffenwinkel holiday pass is in its 38th season this year.
And again, the municipal youth work has succeeded in putting together a diverse range of attractive holiday activities.
District – The offers range from classic baths to museums, castles, mountain railways, amusement parks and mini golf courses to climbing gardens, shipping companies and animal parks.
There are also plenty of suggestions for free holiday fun in the pass, which is available from July for just four euros and is valid throughout the Bavarian summer holidays.
"The holiday pass is an incentive to do something when there is no school," emphasized District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiss, herself an avowed fan of the holiday pass that her children always received.
"Then you leafed through it and found suggestions, for example to go to the Wellenberg," says the head of the office.
The holiday pass lists 20 bathing opportunities alone, but there is also the outdoor wave pool in Peiting, which will remain closed this year due to a lack of staff.
This was not certain at the time of going to print.
Numerous vouchers for ice cream parlors and restaurants
We have also thought of physical well-being with vouchers for ice cream parlors and restaurants.
The cooperation partners are not only to be found in the district, Traunstein, Bad Tölz, Bad Reichenhall or Immenstadt are also part of the party, even Munich, Nuremberg or two offers from neighboring Tyrol can be found in the booklet full of vouchers.
The division into regions with detailed maps ensures clarity.
The design of the flyer was given a makeover this year for the district anniversary, and a clever little fox is the theme of the year.
The accessibility of the destinations in the district is also considered, because with the Oberlandler bus student ticket all school and vocational students can reach the attractions in the entire Oberland free of charge.
You can also take the city bus within Schongau, which can also be used free of charge upon presentation of the holiday pass.
"If families want to go on an excursion together, they should clarify whether a family ticket might be cheaper," emphasizes district youth worker Wolfgang Herz, who created the holiday pass together with his team.
This year the 2000 mark is to be cracked
In 2021, 1996 holiday passes were sold, and this year it is hoped to break the 2000 mark.
In addition to the swimming pools, hits among the attractions on offer were the reptile house in Oberammergau, the mining museum in Peißenberg, climbing gardens and mountain railways.
The Pfaffenwinkel holiday pass is available from all municipal and city administrations, in all Raiffeisenbank and Sparkasse Oberland branches in the district, in the district youth council office in Weilheim, in the youth centers and in the Office for Youth and Family, as well as in some schools.
