After a two-year Corona break, there is another holiday program in Hohenpeissenberg this year.

It includes 38 program items this year.

As youth officer Gerlinde Rasch said at a press event, there is great interest.

And there has been an unusual suggestion.

Hohenpeissenberg – Since 2009, the second mayor of Hohenpeissenberg, Gerlinde Rasch, has been creating a holiday program for the summer holidays for the children and young people of her home town every year.

For ten years up until 2019, she spoke to clubs and fellow citizens whether they would like to offer something in the holiday program, planned, designed and printed a booklet and was there on the day of registration to talk to children and parents and answer their questions to clarify and accept the registrations.

Such was the annual holiday program routine for Rasch.

Then came the corona pandemic and there was a two-year break.

With a heavy heart, the youth officer canceled the holiday program.

“You have to start planning in April.

And if everything had to be canceled in the summer, that was too risky," said Rasch recently at the presentation of this year's holiday program in the town hall.

This year the youth officer took the risk and organized a holiday program again.

You didn't have to advertise long before the clubs and individual fellow citizens had privately agreed to offer a program item, said Rasch: "I was surprised myself, most of those who took part before are back again."

Rasch is himself active in the "Obst- und Gartenbauverein" and has only had good experiences with offering something during the holiday programme.

“The children and young people who come are the offspring for the clubs.” In this way, the boys and girls can easily get to know clubs and they can present themselves to interested young people.

"Those who come to try it often stay," said the second mayor: "And it doesn't have to be the highest that's on offer."

What's on offer is impressive again this year: there are 38 program items for the summer holidays for Hohenpeissenberger children and young people between the ages of 4 and 16.

The offers range from the Red Cross youth cocktail workshop to football golf by TSV Hohenpeißenberg, open-air cinema at the quarry lake for rural youth and karting by the "MSC Bayerischer Rigi".

The holiday program is available in the town hall, among other places, and has been distributed to all households in Hohenpeissenberg.

Apart from a few exceptions, in which the providers themselves accept the registrations, the registration forms can be handed in next Saturday, July 2, from 9 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. in the multi-purpose room in the "House of Clubs".

So far, the response to the new program has been good, said Rasch: "Everyone is enthusiastic." Many older people are also happy that there is a holiday program again.

Some would have wished that Rasch would also have something like this for seniors.

The organizer is again the municipality.

"I am delighted that such a great holiday program has come about," said Mayor Thomas Dorsch at the presentation.
