After the Knesset members were informed that the dissolution of the Knesset would be postponed to tomorrow, they were called to appear again in the Knesset plenum at 11:30 PM prior to the vote on the dispersal.

A majority appears to be voting for the election date on November 1.

To date, no agreements have been reached on the Metro Law, which is intended to allow the continued construction of the subway project in Gush Dan.

Towards the dissolution of the Knesset, contacts between the coalition and the opposition continue.

According to sources in the coalition, the opposition offered to support the passage of the Metro Law in exchange for the cancellation of MK Amichai Shikli's provision.

Technically, legal acrobatics are required to undo Shikli's provision.

One option being considered is to add a reservation by MK Shlomo Krei (Likud) to the Knesset Dissolution Law, which will stipulate that the plenum can overturn decisions of the Knesset committee, and convene the plenum next week to vote on the cancellation of the decision.

With the dissolution of the Knesset, Chairman Yesh Atid and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will become the 14th Prime Minister of the State of Israel, and will serve as Prime Minister, until a new government is formed after the upcoming elections or at any other time. He will have to swear allegiance

to

the Knesset, having already done so when he took over as outgoing prime minister.

The opposition admits that the opposition to the laws is not in principle, but in an attempt to fold the coalition that will agree to advance the elections to October.
