With these words Pamela Malvina Noutcho Sawa, 30 years old from Cameroon, nurse and boxing champion in the 64 kg category, comments to ANSA the Ius Soli, which has symbolically entered the statute of the Municipality of Bologna.
Pamela has lived in Italy since she was eight years old when she was reunited with her father who had moved to study and work.
First she lived in Perugia where she attended primary, middle and high school, then in Bologna, where she graduated from the three-year and master's degrees in Nursing Sciences.
Today you work in the emergency room of the Maggiore hospital.
In the Emilian capital you have also met a passion for boxing and you play in the Asd Bolognina boxe.
However, Pamela is still awaiting the Italian citizenship, which she requested two years ago: "I am confident of obtaining it soon," she says.

The one intended for underage students children of immigrants from Bologna is an "honorary citizenship" but for Pamela it has not only a symbolic value: "It means being recognized as part of a community. For a child, Bologna is as if it were his nation - he underlines - it means to tell him: you have a place where you can always return and you can consider it home ".
Now the hope for Noutcho Sawa is that Parliament will at least recognize the Ius scholae: "I'm grown up now, but I know what it feels like. A child who is born, grows up and studies here, does not need to wait 18 years to say and understand that he is Italian, it is ".
