A Baltimore couple adopted the scrawny and tiny stray cat in 2016 while vacationing in the United Arab Emirates.
“We found Benson 5 years ago while roaming the streets of Dubai.
His old family moved away and left him behind, so we adopted him and brought him to the US," his current owner, Zoe Mansuri, tells Bored Panda in an interview.
But how did Benson go from street cat to Instagram darling?
"After we adopted Benson, we soon found that whenever a camera was pointed at him, he would stop moving and sit perfectly still!
However, it became difficult to make videos of him and we tried our luck with glasses.
Benson accepted them immediately,” continues Benson's owner Mansuri.
Kater Stephan has become a TikTok star with his grumpy videos because he doesn't feel like partying.

Cat used to be a stray - glasses are now his trademark
In the meantime, the glasses have become his trademark and in every photo he surprises his fans with a new model - matching the outfit.
“After a while we got a little bolder with clothes and then even hats.
He wore a complete look," Mansuri said.
And indeed there is hardly a role that the cat doesn't slip into: whether as a rapper, artist, fine lady in a Chanel costume or as a cowboy - Benson always cuts a good figure and is deeply relaxed.
He is only sensitive to his little paws: he hates shoes and socks.
