At the end of the verdict, two scenarios are possible.
In the first, the 14 defendants present and the public prosecutor are satisfied with the verdict.
Individuals sentenced to prison, with a warrant of committal, are immediately placed in detention.
Those who have been sentenced to flexible or suspended sentences are presented to a sentencing judge to determine the terms and conditions.
The acquitted defendants are free.
In the second case, one of the 14 defendants or the general attorneys are not satisfied with the verdict, either on guilt or on the sentence imposed.
They can, within 10 days, appeal.
There will then be a second trial, with only the defendants concerned.
At the trial of the January 2015 attacks, two of the eleven defendants appealed.
The second trial, which will take place between September and October, will therefore only concern these two defendants, Ali Riza Polat and Amar Ramdani.
Attention, the civil parties cannot appeal on the provisions of the judgment, only on the amount of the compensation.
