Visits from Rock Olympus: Metallica stars come to the small town in Hesse for clothes

Co-branded shirts, pilot jackets, denim cargos, steel toe shoes: Strauss and Metallica are presenting the new collection for the festival summer.

Metallica and the manufacturer Engelbert Strauss are launching a joint collection.

The band will visit the location in Biebergemünd to start with.

With two members of the band Metallica, two musicians from the rock Olympus have now descended to the city in the Main-Kinzig district near Hanau, as op-online.de reports.

Guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo gave the symbolic starting signal for the joint collection with Engelbert Strauss during a visit to the Strauss CI Factory in Schluechtern.

The highlight is the steel toe shoe "Metallica Safety Boots", according to the company in a press release.

Metallica

Heavy metal band Metallica is one of the most well-known bands in the heavy metal genre.

It was founded in Los Angeles in 1981 and has been based in San Francisco since 1982.

The band has sold 110 million albums to date, making it one of the most successful bands in the world.

Together with Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax they brought the genre to a new level in the 80s/90s and caused a lot of fans.

They currently include vocalist James Hetfield (founder), drummer Lars Ulrich (founder), lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo on electric bass and backing vocals.

In addition to the safety shoes, other collection items such as T-shirts, sweaters, a jacket and jeans are also sold.

The design is based on the band's brand and all steps are coordinated with Metallica.

At the start of sales, the stars from Metallica gave the symbolic go for the joint collection.

Metallica stars in Schluechtern: excitement about the new collection

Robert Trujillo was enthusiastic about the CI Factory: "From high-tech to craftsmanship," he said during a tour with employees and members of the Strauss family.

The cooperation is part of a global strategy for merchandise articles to expand the Metallica brand and to serve the demand of fans and enthusiasts.

This is a new edition of the collection that already existed in a different form.

The new, limited collection has been available since last week.
