The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, stressed the keenness on the availability of all the basic needs of citizens, overcoming the difficulties facing the movement of merchants, and facilitating the procedures that allow the smooth flow of goods and commodities to the markets.
Minister Salem, during his meeting today with a delegation from the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Craftsmen, discussed the necessity of activating the owners of economic activities in their role in securing the needs of the local market of various commodities, and for everyone to carry out their responsibilities and activities, and to combine efforts in the face of the economic challenges facing Syria, especially in light of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on it.
Minister Salem indicated the importance of partnership and cooperation between the ministry and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and craftsmen to help secure the needs of the local market and discuss the difficulties of internal trade in addition to importing materials and goods and pricing them fairly according to their real cost and finding solutions that are in the interest of all concerned parties.
Minister Salem stressed the need for owners of commercial and industrial activities to comply with the implementation of Legislative Decree No. 8 of 2021 and the executive instructions, indicating that the severe penalties contained in the decree target perpetrators of serious violations.
