Kate Middleton loves tennis at Wimbledon like Queen Elizabeth II loves the Royal Horse Show in Windsor.

But so far it is unclear whether the Duchess will enter the stands.

In fact, should it appear, it will only be announced a day before.

London – This year's Wimbledon Championship will take place from June 20th to July 10th, 2022.

One of the biggest fans of the legendary tennis matches is Kate Middleton (40, all the news here on the topic page).

But so far the Duchess has stayed away from the stadium.

Kate Middleton: Will the royal box at Wimbledon remain empty this year?

Whether and when the Royal is planning a visit to the tennis championship is unknown – and will remain so for the time being.

Behind this is the precaution that dates and appearances of the royals are announced at the earliest on the day before the event.

The appearance of the royals is often only announced on the day of the performance.

The coming of the royal sports cannon from the palace is made public one day before at the earliest.

As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, the British media are even counting on her appearance.

Kate has enjoyed the championship in recent years alongside her husband Prince William (40), Meghan Markles (40), her sister Pippa Middleton (38) and also with dad Michael Middleton (73).

The Duchess of Cambridge has only missed Wimbledon once

The Duchess of Cambridge has only missed matches on Center Court once, apart from 2020, when the games did not take place due to the corona pandemic.

She must have regretted it, because Andy Murray became the first Briton in 77 years to win the men's final in 2013.

Kate revealed in a 2017 BBC interview that she was advised against attending the tournament due to her first pregnancy.

"I was heavily pregnant with George so I couldn't come," Kate told the presenter.

Sue Baker, who did the interview for the documentary Our Wimbledon, responded: "But you had a great excuse!" Kate confessed that the doctors gave her no choice: "I texted him [Andy Murray] and said, 'Sorry I wasn't there, but congratulations'".

Nobody cheers like Kate Middleton when the tension mounts

Her absence was not only a loss for Murray, but also for the Duchess' fans.

Because Kate's facial expressions and gestures are priceless.

With red cheeks and bright eyes, she joins in the excitement, she screams, claps, waves and is undoubtedly passionate about what she is doing.

There are special moments when the otherwise perfectly styled, always flawless Kate shows uninhibited emotions as she follows the action in the Grand Slam tournament.

Kate even swung the racket herself in a game with British US Open champion Emma Raducanu (19).

But this year it could happen that the tense political situation dampens the joy.

As a senior royal, Kate is primarily committed to the crown.

Will Kate follow?

Zara and husband Mike Tindall were among the spectators

Zara (41) and Mike Tindall (43) can take it easy, they found their way into the stadium.

Whether Kate is still coming is in the stars.

Still, it's a serious topic that Kate and William are currently taking on on Instagram.

Their support goes out to #PrideMonth and the "incredible work" of the organization Shout, which is there 24/7 to support lesbians and gays.
