Now it's official:
NATO today (Thursday) invited Finland and Sweden to join the alliance.
"As NATO allies, Finland and Sweden are committed to fully supporting Turkey in its threats to its national security," said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
"This includes further amendment of their local legislation, fighting against PKK activity, changing the legislation and entering into an agreement with Turkey on extradition," he added regarding members of the Kurdish underground who are in both countries.
