Dozens of Palestinians attacked a group of boys who were on a tour and activity in Samaria, near the city of Ariel, a few days ago.
The tour took place a few dozen meters outside Ariel's security fence, but inside the city's municipal area.
Several dozen Arabs from the village of Ishaka ran towards the boys, armed with sticks and rocks, and the Jews in turn tried to call for urgent help.
The group of boys was accompanied by an older man, and in the violent brawl that developed in the incident, one of the Palestinians was stabbed to death.
The day after the incident, the same older man arrived at the police station.
He was asked, by the police, to testify, and asked for his part to file a complaint.
Contrary to what we would expect from a person suspected of severe violence, that person - whose name is not allowed to be published - was not arrested and was not taken for police interrogation, but was immediately taken for GSS interrogation at a facility in the south of the country.
The suspicions attributed to him are murder as an act of terrorism and obstruction of justice.
A strict restraining order was imposed on the investigation, and the videos from the scene of the incident that are published on Palestinian networks are prohibited from being exposed in Little Israel.
And so, there is no asking and no answering.
And I actually want to ask and appeal, to shake and tease, because it is clear that these are very serious suspicions, and the attitude of the authorities is puzzling, frightening and omitting.
Why was the suspect interrogated by the GSS? Why was he denied the opportunity to meet with a lawyer? Why is the police not investigating? That a melee has developed, apparently on a nationalist background, and that there are at least two sides to this. Was the force used by the suspect in self-defense?
How can it be that the default is to take him to the GSS cellars and deprive him of basic rights? Who gave this scandalous order? And not only that. The police also arrested five civilians who dared to demonstrate against the arrest and interrogation of the suspect. Heavy cloud.
"If these investigations continue, I will admit that I murdered Hitler," the suspect told the court.
He is also willing to cooperate with the investigation and hand over his version, provided he is questioned by police investigators and not the GSS. Disgraceful answer: Jews can also walk outside the security fences of the localities, and there is no reason for them to be attacked.
This case is undoubtedly exceptional, and its consequences are serious.
